Alexa Tip: Sending Voice Content to a Fire Tablet

Here’s a quick tip for those who have both Alexa Echo devices and Amazon Fire Tablets.

Did you know you can have voice content sent to your Fire Tablet automatically or even manually by your request? This is a really great feature if you don’t own an Amazon Alexa device with a screen like the Echo Show, Echo Spot, or Fire TV and want to see Alexa’s output like weather, news, etc.

First you have to turn on the feature. In the Alexa mobile app on the Fire Tablet…

1. Go to Settings and page down until your see the Audio Groups section.

2. Select the Voicecast option.

3. The first option on the page is to enable Voicecast. This allows you to tell Alexa to “send” things to your Fire Tablet.

4. The next area is the Automatic Voicecast, which causes all Alexa content to show up automatically on your Fire Tablet.

If you turn on the automatic option, display cards just show up on your Fire Tablet whenever an Alexa device is used. But, if you want to push specific content directly to the Fire Tablet, just say…

Alexa, send that to my Fire Tablet
