As more and more Alexa device owners are testing out the recently added Audio Groups feature for music synchronization across devices, many are curious as to how this feature works.
Some suggested that its over Bluetooth across devices, but that’s not the case.
The Audio Groups feature works across the Wi-Fi connection on your local network. This also means that you can’t group together devices that are on separate networks. Some homes or even businesses run separate networks for various reasons. Only those devices connected to the same network can be grouped together.
NOTE: This includes setups that have GUEST networks.
