With Amazon’s recent release of Audio Groups to enable synchronized music streaming across devices, many are testing this new feature. Except for a few complaints like that devices cannot exist in multiple groups, most are finding the experience a good one.
However, Tap users are none too happy. The Amazon Tap is a wonderful device. Its portable (has a recharging battery) and a rich sounding speaker. However, the Tap hasn’t seen many of the latest feature additions, including the Calling and Messaging feature added a few months ago. Rumor suggests that Amazon is done with the Tap and will stop supporting it soon.
More evidence has come to light with the release of the Audio Groups because the Tap is not supported for this feature. Amazon could very well release an update for the Tap, but its unlikely.
When you create a new Audio Group in the Alexa app, the Tap just doesn’t show up as an option.
