Alexa Skills: Soothing Sounds

There are many ambient sound skills in the Alexa Skill store, but many of these are just single noises. Additionally, some produce low quality sound.

A new skill in the store called simply, Ambient Noise, provides a good number of ambient sounds that can soothe, calm, and even allow you to drift off to sleep. Just writing this up right now, I’m listening to the rainforest sound. Its a mixture or rain, birds, and other rainforest animals and insects.

Here’s the currently available sounds: Thunderstorms, Ocean waves, Babbling Brook, Fireplace, Airplane, Fan, City, Rainforest, Train, Crickets, Frogs, and Birds.

The sounds are very high quality and Alexa will play the sounds you select continuously, or you can use Alexa’s capability to set a stop timer.

Examples of things you can say…

“Alexa, ask Ambient Noise for rain”
“Alexa, tell Ambient Noise to play ocean waves”

Where to get it: You can locate the Ambient Noise Skill in the Amazon Alexa app, enable it using your voice, or use the following web link: Ambient Noise

Alexa is available for Amazon devices Echo, Dot, Tap, Fire tablets, and Fire TV, but also on iOS, Android, and the web with
