Alexa Skills: Retro Mystery Radio

I was a bit too old growing up to listen to the original CBS Radio Mystery Theater broadcasts, but that didn’t stop my dad from finding a way to allow me to listen to the replays. The replays usually came from 45s or 78s (vinyl records). And, I’m glad he did that. That really helped spur my imagination and gave me, I think, the ability to be a good listener. Of course, TV is still my favorite  medium, but there’s nothing like sitting still in a room listening to voices deliver a robust story that also took some brainpower to concoct the virtual scenes. I loved listening to Superman, The Shadow, Flash Gordon, and others.

Thanks to Appbly.com, a new Radios Mystery Theater Alexa skill brings back the CBS Radio Mystery Theater broadcasts. The skill pulls from Archive.org to deliver the full series.

Where to get it: You can locate the Radios Mystery Theater Skill in the Amazon Alexa app, enable it using your voice, or use the following web link: Radios Mystery Theater

Alexa is available for Amazon devices Echo, Dot, Tap, Fire tablets, and Fire TV, but also on iOS, Android, and the web with Reverb.ai.
