Alexa Skills: A Better Happy Birthday

Around here, birthday parties are big event. The wife takes great pains to ensure the house is just right for company. We have four kids and that’s a LOT of birthdays over the years, with last minute planning, cleaning, and baking.  The wife also has a real skill building custom cakes and I’m always impressed by her next invention.

But, if there’s one thing that we’ve never really improved on (and I’m sure many of you have this same conundrum) is the Happy Birthday song. Its always a mumbled experience. Half the room is into it, half seem a bit afraid that someone might hear a poor singing voice, and then there’s a couple that belt it out like the Star Spangled Banner at the baseball game.

Alexa has a cure for that with a skill that plays the Happy Birthday song – piano-style. Using the skill, there’s little room to sing too slow, too fast, or stray off-key. Use it at your next party and impress your family and friends.

Where to get it: You can locate the Birthday Song Skill in the Amazon Alexa app, enable it using your voice, or use the following web link: Birthday Song

Alexa is available for Amazon devices Echo, Dot, Tap, Echo Show, Echo Look, Fire tablets, and Fire TV, but also on iOS, Android, and the web with Reverb.ai.
