Alexa Skill of the Week: My Out of Office – MSFT

Each week, we take a look at new and important Alexa skills you might want to consider enabling for your Alexa device. Amazon continues to improve Alexa with its own updates, but skills are software components that allow Alexa users to extend functionality across all Alexa-enabled devices in use for very specific functions.

This week’s skill: My Out of Office – MSFT

Description: Link to your Microsoft email accounts (Outlook, MSN, Hotmail) account to be able to ask Alexa to set your out of office message.

Real world use: Here’s a simple yet useful new skill. Setting an out of office message isn’t the most difficult task, but its often one of the most forgotten ones. Its Friday before a week off work and you’re so antsy to get out the door that you forget to set your email notification that you’ll be gone. And, then Monday morning it hits you, and you have to spend time to login to your email system and configure the out of office message. Again, not a difficult task, but at this point its become a pain in the butt.

The My Out of Office – MSFT skill allows you to set your out of office message using Alexa. Account linking is required and it only supports, MSN, and Hotmail right now, but it could save some time and headache in the future.

Where to get it: You can locate the My Out of Office – MSFT Skill in the Amazon Alexa app, enable it using your voice, or use the following web link: My Out of Office – MSFT
