Alexa FAQ: Android Support for Calling and Messaging

After the Calling and Messaging feature was released for Alexa devices, some (I dare say, man) Android users complained that the feature was not working for them through the Alexa app. After digging deeper into the issue, the common theme was the Android version.

Echo Calling and Messaging will only work for Android smartphones using version 5 and above.

This is a great example of Android users hanging on to old technology just a bit too long and getting passed over for cool, new features. If you want to use this feature, its time to upgrade.
