An exclusive report on Time magazine’s web site suggests that reporters with the organization have scooped some news that Amazon is working on improving Alexa’s ability to recognize a person by voice. Right now, Amazon can separate user profiles by Amazon accounts, but in the future the new voice recognition capability would allow Alexa to automatically associate a recognized voice with a specific Amazon account. This would give customers the ability to separate accounts in the home based on different family members, but also mean that any Alexa device, located anywhere in the world, would also automatically recognize a user by their voice.
