A 2016 Security Bug that Can Steal Passwords from Microsoft Outlook Gets a Security Update

While we’re already two days beyond Patch Tuesday for April 2018, more information about a critical security bug for Microsoft Outlook 2010-2016 has come to light that needs highlighted.

CVE-2018-0950 | Microsoft Office Information Disclosure Vulnerability

This one needs to be applied right away.

According to Will Dormann at the Carnegie Mellon University, this is a known issue since 2016. He goes into great detail about how to take advantage of the vulnerability to steal passwords from Microsoft Outlook:
