On January 3, 2017, Microsoft released an update for offline versions of Office 2016 to resolve the following issues: When macros and some add-ins are included in operations to update the status bar text frequently, they are significantly slower in Office 2013 and Office 2016 than in earlier versions. When you insert content into cells in Excel, Excel may intermittently freeze on virtual machines and low-end devices. Windows 10 Bitlocker Encryption Time Should Improve with Creators Update

Microsoft customers using Bitlocker and Windows 10 have noticed that the encryption process takes considerably longer than it did with previous versions of Windows, including Windows 7. Microsoft explains that the longer processing time is due to new features added to Windows 10 (explanation HERE). The process is expected to improve with the release of Windows 10 Creators Update – which is rumored to become available in April 2017. HEAT Software to Merge with LANDESK

LANDESK has been in a constant volley for the last decade or so, unable to ultimately find a place in the systems management market – primarily due to Altiris being completely consumed by Symantec and Microsoft taking the majority of the market with its System Center and Intune management products. Today, HEAT Software has announced it will merge with LANDESK. There’s no indication whether HEAT will retain its operating name or not, or whether the merging of the two companies will fall under a single LANDESK umbrella.
