Jay Connor wrote a new post, SCCM 2012 SP1 pre-req check fails verification when using the same download folder used as original install. 3 months, 4 weeks ago

If the verification of the downloads fail make sure you aren’t using the same folder as you used during the original setup of SCCM as it will use the manifest file that is in that folder.

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Version control and ignoring Pre-Staged Media when needed. 7 months, 1 week ago

ThumbnailWhat was bugging us with Pre-Staged media is that it always skips the apply OS Step. I wanted it to download the OS wim if we had made changes to the base that weren’t just microsoft updates. The CheckBaseVersion […]

Jay Connor wrote a new post, MDT 2012 is unable to save bitlocker recovery key to the AD 9 months, 3 weeks ago

During OSD we found that the step to enable bitlocker was not storing the recovery key in the AD, this is because sccm won’t process any group policies until the task sequence is complete. To get around this […]

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Using SCCM to deploy Linux ( and dual boot with XP) 1 year, 1 month ago

First off I have to say I know hardly anything about Linux! I was given a linux SOE installed “prepped” on a second partition and was tasked to get it deployed via sccm.

The first problem was automating the […]

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Setup Windows and ConfigMgr using PATCH="%_SMSTSMDataPath% fails: 1635 1 year, 1 month ago

We recently had this error happen when reimaging a Windows 7 machine.

%_SMSTSMDataPath% is chosen during OSD by finding the largest drive.

The problem is that the variable %_SMSTSMDataPath% is not […]

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Finding drivers when they are not on the manufacturers site 1 year, 1 month ago

I recently was having a difficult time finding drivers for the SMSC infrared driver for Win7. So I thought I would give Windows Update a try – it’s excellent.

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Super Mega Non-Microsoft Browser Deployment Post – Chrome, Safari, Firefox 1 year, 1 month ago

Sometimes I get requests that I make me say ‘wow, really?’ then I just do them, this is one. Not confirmed exactly if every browser on the planet is going in our W7 SOE or just being made available to computers. […]

Jay Connor wrote a new post, Build and Capture: Windows setup failed, code 31 1 year, 1 month ago

    Quick tip:

My Task sequence was working fine until yesterday…

It turns out SCCM was applying one of the new drivers I added for windows 7 somehow causing it to fail.

Simple fix was to only apply the VMware drivers.
