The next chapter of Microsoft Windows launches on October 26th.

Come out and learn about what’s new and exciting in Windows 8. We will cover topics like Windows 8 apps, the Start screen, task manager and other new features. Then we will learn different methods to deploy Windows 8 with tools like MDT and System Center Configuration Manager 2012. After this we will discuss Windows 2 Go and Client Hyper-V.

After this we will discuss Anywhere productivity within Windows 8. With new advancements in BranchCache and DirectAcces, using Windows while connected to the corporate network has never been easier. Managing devices is now easier too with tools like Windows InTune and PowerShell. We then dive into Windows 8 apps and how to deploy and manage them. We finish up the session talking about new security features and enhancements in Windows 8.

Todd has been working in the IT field since 1995 when he first started doing tech support for an internet service provider.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Computer Science and Economics from Laurentian University. Professional accomplishments include being awarded Microsoft MVP – Setup and Deployment. Todd has also have achieved his Microsoft Certified Trainer credential, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified IT Professional and Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist. Todd is an avid learner and never hesitates to share his knowledge with others. Todd has presented at various venues, most notably, TechDays Canada. Todd’s Bio

Todd is a Data Centre Administrator for the Upper Canada School Board in Brockville, Ontario, supporting the Information Technology needs of the board and its’ 89 schools. He is responsible for helping to manage and maintain the datacentre  infrastructure. Aside from the IT duties, Todd is also responsible for managing on-going projects. Todd has been working in the IT field since 1995 when he first started doing tech support for an internet service provider.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Computer Science and Economics from Laurentian University. Professional accomplishments include being awarded Microsoft MVP – Setup and Deployment. Todd has also have achieved his Microsoft Certified Trainer credential, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified IT Professional and Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist. Todd is an avid learner and never hesitates to share his knowledge with others. Todd has presented at various venues, most notably, TechDays Canada. Todd lives in Kingston, Ontario with his partner Tracey and their son. To unplug, Todd enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking the food he grows.

Islam’s Bio:

Islam Gomaa is a Data Protection Manager MVP from Ottawa, Canada, specialized in System Center Products, disaster recovery and system infrastructures running on the Microsoft server technology stack. Islam brings over 13 years of expertise in helping organizations align their business goals using Microsoft technology  and deploying Microsoft-based solutions for the private and public sector He is also a member of the Windows Springboard Technical Expert Panel [STEP] for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 having delivered STEP presentations as an evangelist in Ottawa, Edmonton and Calgary. Islam authored some webcasts on Data Protection Manager 2007, 2010 including 300 level “Protecting Applications with DPM2007” and 400 “DPM and Opalis Automation for Disaster Recovery”. Islam presents at TechDays 2010 in Winnipeg Canada and he is always invited to present for both for OWSUG in Ottawa and MITPRO in Montreal.

Islam has a B.Sc. in computer science from Montreal University, and holds several Microsoft technical designations and he is an active member of the IT community.
