To catch my first-look for this notebook that includes all the photos, specs, and initial thoughts, go HERE first.
This CHUWI LapBook I received about a week ago has been my constant companion for the majority of the time. Not only is this notebook an absolutely gorgeous white, but there’s so much about this to love.
It seems CHUWI was out to deliver a very real Macbook competitor, but with the ever-popular Windows 10. And, in many ways the company has done just that.
When you look through the photos and specs I provided, you’ll see that the look is very Macbook-like, but I have to say that the hardware usability also has a very Mac-like feel. The keyboard and trackpad are almost identical in function to what you’d expect if you sat down with a Macbook. The only real knock against this laptop is the trackpad. Its responsive enough, but probably not the best compared to higher-end laptops. Oh, and it doesn’t have a USB Type C port. That’s not a killer, but would be a nice compliment.
But, the key to this particular manufacturer and model is the price for what you get.
Bottom line: This is a budget laptop that completely exceeds expectations. It performs well, has a great screen, adequate expansion and connection, and looks good to boot. Yes, the trackpad could be better, it could have better battery life (rated for 4 hours video streaming), and a USB Type C port would be a welcome addition, but you really can’t go wrong with the CHUWI LapBook Windows 10 notebook. For those who are part of the mass exodus from Apple systems to Windows 10 PCs, this could be the perfect vehicle. This is one recent review item I’m keeping in my possession for a while.
Its available from Gearbest for around $230: CHUWI LapBook 14.1 inch Windows 10 Notebook
