Windows XP Sales Cut-Off Looms

By Randy Littleson

A new ComputerWorld article entitled “Microsoft puts Windows 7 laggards in a pinch” discusses the pending cut-off of Windows XP.  Adding to the angst was the news that Microsoft said it could not recommend that business customers upgrade to Windows 8.1, the update to Windows 8 scheduled to ship October 18th.

The article cites research from Net Applications indicating Windows XP still powers 33.7% of all personal computers worldwide.
