In a surprise KB article published today, Microsoft released Cumulative Update 3 for ConfigMgr 2012 SP1. A support team blog post is expected soon. See the KB article for all the details and to download the update:
There are a number of the usual bug fixes in a several product areas. However, there are two features rolled into this CU that you should know about.
CU3 adds some additional support for Windows 8.1 clients for software distribution, software update management, and compliance settings features. Full support for Windows 8.1 clients will not exist until people upgrade to ConfigMgr 2012 R2 after it is released in October (or another later CU for pre-R2 installs), but the features in this CU should tide over a lot of organizations for awhile.
Also in CU3, Microsoft has incorporated the antimalware platform update first release in hotfix KB2865173. The antimalware platform update adds significant improvements to the behavior-monitoring features, performance and manageability of the System Center Endpoint Protection agent. By rolling the hotfix into the cumulative update, the product team has made it significantly easier to implement these agent improvements.
Instead of waiting for ConfigMgr 2012 R2 in October, installing Cumulative Update 3 has enough bug fixes and compelling new features for organizations to test and deploy it right away.
I hope that helps!
