In a recent LinkedIn post within the Windows 7 Project Management group, John Claridge posted that:
“Microsoft and its partners would need to migrate 586,000 PCs per day over the next 273 days in order to get rid of all PCs running Windows XP“
Automation is going to be the key. Customers can leverage the experience of those that have already successfully completed their Windows 7 migrations by utilizing tools that can automate the Application Readiness process – including application compatibility testing, application packaging and even operating system deployment.
You can read more about how to achieve this at our post entitled “Windows XP Support End Looms – Automation Eases Windows 7 Migration“.
The clock is ticking on Windows XP support. Leveraging the right tools will help ensure a successful migration.
