Cost-effective transportation around Las Vegas for MMS 2013

If you’re following our suggestion to save money by staying at an alternate hotel (Looking to attend MMS 2013 on the cheap? Alternate hotels available), you may be concerned about the distance between your hotel and MMS 2013 since the Mandalay Bay is at the far end of the Las Vegas strip.  Here’s a couple cost saving options if you determine that walking is out of the question – particularly during bad weather.  Yes, you can take a cab, but cabs are going to cost you between $15-25 (with tip) each trip.

Transportation Around Town

Per Michael Niehaus, the Deuce bus will take you up and down the strip at $2 each trip and $5 for 24 hours.  You can get 2-hour, 24-hour, 3-day, 5-day, and 30-day passes:  http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas-deuce.php

Monorail System

The Monorail system went up in Vegas a few years back, and despite issues (closings) every time we were in Vegas for MMS it seemed, it actually is a great, cheap way to get to the MMS 2013 conference center if you are lodging in a hotel further away from the event.  You can purchase tickets line for a single ride ($5), a one-day pass ($12), and a 3 day pass ($28).

The Monorail runs Monday-Thursday from 7am-2am, and Friday-Sunday from 7am to 3am.
