Syntax checking and highlighting in a scripting app for Windows RT

Still in it’s infancy, Notepad RT is an app for Windows RT that gives you the ability to create and edit common web code.  I suspect we’ll see support for more code on the way, but so far, the app is workable.

Here’s what it offers so far:

  • Syntax highlighting for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby, C/C++, C#, Markdown, and many more languages.
  • Several popular Dark and Light Syntax highlighting themes to choose from.
  • Live syntax checking for JavaScript, CoffeeScript, and CSS.
  • Automatic indention, Line wrapping, and Code folding.
  • Highlighting of matching parentheses and selected line.
  • Toggle invisible characters.
  • Drag and drop text.
  • Work with multiple cursors and selections.

The app is $2.49 in the Windows Store.
