Learn Windows Azure on your own with this training kit download

Providing two different downloads (full download and a web installer), Microsoft has released the Windows Azure Training Kit.  There’s a lot of folks who hear “Windows Azure” and consider it’s nothing for them to take part in or nothing that will ever be of interest.  However, here’s a tip: even System Center Configuration Manager admins will eventually need to know how to work with Windows Azure.  In some respects, Windows Azure is Microsoft’s way of bridging the private cloud (local network/datacenter) with the public cloud.  You can even find techniques in the ConfigMgr 2012 documentation for creating cloud-based, or Windows Azure-based, ConfigMgr server roles.  Here’s one example:  Install Cloud-Based Distribution Points in Windows Azure

So, what I’m saying to you, is that you will need to know about Windows Azure.  The Windows Azure Training Kit includes 47 hands-on labs, 24 demos and 38 presentations.

    Is it a typo on the MS download page when it says:

    The Windows Azure Training Kit – October 2012 update includes technical content that can be used on Windows 7, Windows 8, or Mac OS X.

    The only downloadable files I see are .exe’s (i.e. can’t be used on OS X).

    @Clay – For Mac developers, we suggest proceeding to the Windows Azure Training Kit organization on GitHub. https://github.com/WindowsAzure-TrainingKit

    There are a [currently] 4 HOLs which were designed for use on OSX.
