Microsoft releases "suggested actions" for 0-day IE exploit

As alerted yesterday, there’s a nasty zero-day IE exploit circulating that affects pretty much all existing versions of Internet Explorer and all Windows Operating System versions except Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Internet Explorer 10.  So, it sounds like Microsoft took the time to fix this issue in their latest OS.  A number of industry folks are recommending users of Internet Explorer to “stop using it” and use the Chrome browser instead.

In response, Microsoft has released a security advisory (2757760), describing the situation, laying out the various affected and non-affected software versions, and giving some temporary workarounds, such as deploying the Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit, while they work on a permanent fix – which, I assume, will come in the form of an out-of-band update.
