As widely reported, a significant number of RC testers of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 are experiencing hang issues with the operating system. Microsoft has identified the issue as being related to multimedia and communication activities – and, in fact, just about any normal multimedia function of a modern day PC like video editing, unified communications, or other multimedia activities.
There’s a workaround for the issue, but it kills battery life by disabling Windows 8/2012’s dynamic tick function. However, Microsoft has released a Hotfix to resolve the issue permanently.
