Pulling the curtain back on the ConfigMgr 2012 Application Model

As you (hopefully) know by now, ConfigMgr 2012 presents a brand new application model that extends what was first developed in ConfigMgr 2007.  Extends is not quite the right terminology, as CM2012’s functions and capabilities are far beyond anything you might experience in CM2007. Still, “configuration items” were introduced during CM2007’s product run and set up the basis for CM2012’s changes.  And, that’s probably about the only thing you might recognize in CM2012.

For those with a technical bone, Steve Rachui has started up a series (he promises it to be a 3-parter) to dig deep into the new application model and give a behind-the-scenes display of what is really going on.  Even if you don’t want to dig so deep into how it all works, it’s still a good idea to read through what Steve is presenting because it definitely helps with troubleshooting should problems arise (and they usually do).

Read through the first in the series:  ConfigMgr 2012–Application Model–Internals–Part I
