Russ Rimmerman recently experienced an issue when attempting to connect to the Software Catalog. He received the following error message:
There is a problem connecting with the server.
The Web site cannot communicate with the server. This may be a temporary problem. Click the Retry action to submit your request again. If this problem continues, try again later, or view the “More Information” section to see details about the problem.
After further investigation, i.e., walking through the log files and installing a missing pre-requisite, he eventually landed on an issue where .NET 4.0 was not enabled.
