Microsoft Security Essentials version 4.0 released

I run this on all my home PCs.  I love it.  Its unobtrusive, and really does a great job not bogging down my systems during updates and scans.  I was really hoping that the 4.0 release would provide support for Windows 8, but it doesn’t appear that is the case for this version.  I have a couple Windows 8 PCs and tablets not running any type of protection.

OK…so after downloading and attempting to install this latest rev, it appears that my installed version has been updated at some point already.  If this is the case for you, you’ll get this message:
