There’s constant talk in the community about the Kace devices that manage endpoints. In most scenarios, its comparing Kace to Altiris or LANDesk and rarely comparing it to ConfigMgr. But, it does come up.
Dell bought Kace a few years back and even their marketing folks are careful not to compare the Kace hardware directly to ConfigMgr. I heard a story, recently, about a salesperson promoting Kace over ConfigMgr and making crazy, untrue statements – but hey, that’s a salesperson. Who remembers the Kace folks getting booted from the MMS expo a couple years back? They were actually asked to leave pretty early on during the week. Their unmanned booth just sat there in defiance the rest of the week.
I caught a review on the Dell Kace K1000 that does a good job separating the good from the bad, and once again it compares the K1000 to Altiris and LANDesk (not ConfigMgr).
