  • Chrome user or not - watch out for GoogleUpdate.exe

    To update Chrome, Google installs a startup app in the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key in the registry. The program is called GoogleUpdate.exe and it seems to run periodically and of its own volition.  If you have Chrome installed, check your processes for this app running...

  • NetApplications indicates Chrome is losing ground?

    Not that it had much ground to start with, but NetApplications has been tracking Google’s Chrome.  From their numbers, though, I don’t see much of a drop-off.  Except I do see that Safari gained some ground – which to me indicates that NetApplications isn’t tracking Chrome as well as they could...
