Mortorola Q and SlingBox Mobile video
I would really like to get the Motorola Q, it is ideal for me, minus the price. This video is of the Motorola Q in action and the user connects to his SlingBox using the mobile application and watches live TV, changes channels, and watches a prerecorded movie. I have seen Orb and it does the same thing but it is free. Check out the video here. TechEBlog ยป (Video) SlingBox Mobile on the Motorola Q
RE: CNET™s AllYouCanUpload Is Disruptive
Another nice find by TechCrunch! Upload all the photo's you want, no size or bandwidth restrictions, no accounts, and it creates the html code for you to link to your images. CNET very quietly launched a simple new photo uploading site called AllYouCanUpload last week. At first glance it doesn’t appear to be very special or disruptive. But it is. By launching AllYouCanUpload, CNET just pulled...
Windows Live Local
My employer might fire me for this! Windows Live Local ROCKS! ESRI is going to release something very similar in the not too distant future called....maybe I shouldn't say its name. But it is geared towards businesses more than consumers. Windows Live Local has driving directions, that also shows me construction, traffic conditions (for certain areas), I can adjust my route on the fly, print, email...
RE: Blogging in the car
Rod, What are you posting with? I keep kicking the idea of getting the MDA or SDA, and now the Q. I have Verizon and moving to the MDA or SDA would require a hefty pentaly, but I had T-Mobile before I switched to Verizon (again) and did not have any problems with coverage. I also read that you can use the MDA or SDA with their Blackberry service instead of the more expensive Internet service. Nothing...
Memorial Day
How do you celebrate Memorial Day? Did you know that this is often observed in other countries as well? Not for their soldiers, ours? Did you know their are schools in Norway that adopt the graves of US veterans that were killed in action and buried in their country and maintain their grave site and observe this day? Did you know that Memorial day was originally observed on the 30th day of May but...
Mini-Microsoft Calls it Quits? RE: All Good Things...
I agree if you have different priorities and things you are missing out on then you should refocus. Good luck. Happy Memorial Day! All good things come to an end. Or to a long pause, or to a ride off into the sunset, or to at least a substantial hibernation ( preferably on a holiday weekend, to make the least amount of noise ). I don't often talk or write to other people about what I do here. I did...
RE: Internet Journalists are Protected by Law, Court Rules
Hmmmm...what do you think of this? In a decision that could set the tone for journalism in the digital age, a California appeals court ruled Friday that bloggers, like traditional reporters, have the right to keep their sources confidential. A panel of three judges said in a 69-page decision that a group of bloggers did not have to divulge their sources to Cupertino's Apple Computer Inc., contending...
How to Recover Deleted Files from a Network Share!
Ward has posted over on his blog one great new feature that I was not aware of in Longhorn. The ability to tick a checkbox and have files deleted from a network share go the Recycle Bin instead of just being deleted. I know I have been asked several times why a file cannot be restored from the Recycle Bin after being deleted from a file share, this should eliminate this. I wonder how they will maintain...
RE: Battleship + Ajax = SinkMyShip
And for something completely different. This should entertain you while waiting for that package test to complete. This is just for fun, although it’s also a nice demonstration of multi-user Ajax. If you like the old Milton Bradley Battelship game, you’ll enjoy spending a few minutes on SinkMyShip , an online Ajax version of the game. It’s free, no registration is required (just pick...
RE: Deploying Windows Vista using SMS 2003
If you missed this at MMS, or did not attend MMS, or just can't find your notes, here is another chance to get a look at deploying Vista with SMS 2003. Particularly apt given Windows Vista Beta 2 was release on Tuesday this week is a webcast coming up next week (30th May) at 8AM Pacific (4PM UK time) about how to use SMS 2003 to deploy operating systems in general, and specifically the Operating System...
New SMS 2003 Book
Ron and Rod did I miss the post? There seems to be a new SMS book on Amazon, you can only preorder it today but it is up there... Professional SMS 2003 : Systems Management Server (Paperback) by Ron Crumbaker
Bill Gates Keynote Today at WinHEC
It starts today at 9 AM PST The WinHEC attendees did not get Beta 2 of Vista or Office 2007 in their bags at registrations, but it is rumored that they will be handed out today after Bill gives his speech. Since I am not at WinHEC, don't expect a through review of the daily events like at MMS, I will do my best to watch the keynote though. Regards.
RE: Introducing System Center Virtual Machine Manager
I know, I know, the number one rule of blogging - don't reblog...I have no excuse, I am a pitiful sorry human being... That's me in the front... Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager is the latest addition to the System Center family of management products and provides centralized management of Windows Virtual Machine infrastructure. Virtual Machine Manager enables increased physical server...
How Microsoft Deployed Data Protection Manager
This document describes how Microsoft deployed Data Protection Manager to 130+ remote sites. It also includes comparitive data along with best practices. This is version 4 and was released today. When I was at MMS last month I spoke to one of the Microsoft reps regarding Data Protection Manager, I had already gotten a little news about this last summer from our emerging technologies briefing, but I...
