The final session I went to this week was Ron’s Web Remote Tools presentation.  the day before Ron was telling me that there have been a few people that have taken his code and used it without giving him credit, and some even pawn it off as their own!  People are fascinating to me.  Anyways Ron discussed how the next version will have a batch file to make the changes needed to adapt it to your own environment instead of editing the pages directly.  I did not mind having to do this because I forced me to read the code and see how things were done, but I can see how people would find it frustrating.  Version 4 should be out this summer when he and Rod finish their book.

He also showed off a web console to replace the SMS MMC admin console that Greg Ramsey has been working on and Ron has been asked to provide some help.  Some of the features of it are DRAG and DROP, and the speed of the console, while MMC v3 and SP2 for SMS 2003 makes the UI much more responsive, the web console looks like it is faster.  Greg is working on a couple different versions and Ron asked the crowd for input on what they would like to see, not see, have added, to help get a product that people will get the most out of.
