Are services installed and running, file shares, windows firewall, strong passwords, guest accounts, SQL, IIS, if you have not seen MBSA 2.0 and the additional configuration assessment check it out and you will see the additional checks it does outside of the patch status.

In SCCM 2007 they will use the Windows Update agent as the only scanner, so this scanner, and all the other scanners in SMS will be replaced with the ITMU scan tool, including ITCU.
