Subject: [mssms] SCCM Software Updates behaviour

Is there documentation detailing the behaviour of SCCM Software Updates configuration regarding users and Windows Update?  We are using SCCM to deliver updates but our Vista systems keep getting a popup informing the user that Windows is not up to date.  Reports run against the updates lists tell me they are compliant.

So when your Vista system is “Managed by your system administrator” does this mean the client should only be checking the SUP server or does it still see updates on Windows Update?  My guess is that they are seeing an update (eg., IE8) that is on the Windows Update site, but not yet approved by us.

Thanks.
