That is a work around I’ve used in the past if I had an issue specific to the agent during capture. It gets redeployed during the OSD…

 

 

I’m running the capture disc manually.  I have not tried uninstalling the ConfigMgr client on the reference machine.

 

Have you tried to remove the client all together? Are you doing a manual capture?

 

 

I applied the msp to the ConfigMgr client on the reference machine.  You can see in this screenshot where it updated the version of the OSD portion of the client.  Still won’t capture.

I heard that you must also apply an MSP to the ConfigMgr client before it will work. The MSP will be put in a subfolder of your ConfigMgr Client source  files so the only thing you have to do is include it as an patch during your ConfigMgr client installation via PATCH=”<path to your msp>”. And redistribute your ConfigMgr client ofcourse.

 

The procedure for the msp is also explained in KB955955 .
