Subject: RE: [mssms] SCCM in non-domain environment?
Tom,
A couple of things – I recommend that you use a Server Locator Point (SLP) in your environment. When you install your workgroup clients, be sure to specify the SLP, Site Code, Fallback Status Point and port number (if you are using Native mode, there are a few more steps involved for the certificates). Here is a sample command line that needs to be run with administrative rights (source client files are local):
C:\CMClient\ccmsetup.exe /source: “C:\CMClient” /noservice CCMHTTPPORT=80 SMSSITECODE=ABC SMSMP=MPSERVERNAME FSP=FSPSERVERNAME SMSSLP=SLPSERVERNAME

Excellent! The DNS is AD-integrated but just the clients aren't migrated to the domain yet. Any idea if, after once moved to AD DS, SCCM updates itself (I'll have to test this anyway).
Thanks - this list is great.

Is it possible to use SCCM for workstations that are not in a domain. We are slowly migrating to Active Directory and adding the SCCM agents to the PCs as they enter our domain. Is it possible to do all PCs now that are not in the domain and manage them, or must they be in AD DS?
