Assuming you can still open VirusScan Console on the site server, you should be able to tell the settings without having access to ePO :-

Just wondering what you have on the various tabs, primarily the Detection and Advanced Tabs.

It is policy set on the EPO server.  I unfortunately, I am not the administrator of EPO so cannot tell you what those setting would be.  You could set it on the manually on your Primary server under the VirusScan Console – On-Access Scanner – Low-Risk Processes.  I did manually on the Primary server first to test it, before having it updated in EPO by the Security Team.

Just out of interest Robert, how are your low risk processes configured?  Screenshots of each tab would be good.

I had the security team add ccmexec.exe, sitecomp.exe, smsexec.exe, smsrph.exe, and sqlsevr.exe to Low-Risk Processes.

We found the sluggish SCCM Console issue was caused by our virus software.  Once we made the SMS and SQL processes low priority on real time scans, our performance was greatly improved.  Now the All Systems collection for 25,000 clients comes back in under two seconds.  It used to take about 5 minutes.

Hi everyone from a chilly England,

Does anyone else get sluggish performance from the SCCM MMC console? i.e. you often have to twiddle your thumbs and wait for the console to do things like this:

It says this but you can just hit cancel and the console is responding

But with this one usually saying something along the lines of waiting/updating console etc
