  This is still an old one , but I can imagine some admins are still freaking out when seeing this . • Remote install of DPM 2010 agents

  It is a fact… From time to time, DPM won’t install the agent through the GUI.  And yes, most of the time, then you need to install it manually.  In the larger environments, we use different methods for our DPM agent deployments, but in the smaller ones, the infrastructure for doing that just isn’t there.  Hans De Leenheer, which is a colleague of mine does quite some DPM implementations with smaller companies as part of a larger projects.  As he likes the words “a good admin is a lazy admin” (which is something I share with him :-)) he decided to create a small procedure to install the agents on servers remotely.  Now he doesn’t need to RDP to each server. • What's coming in Opalis?

  Hi All,   The Opalis team just blogged about their short term plans, and they look bright. For starters, platform wise Opalis will step into the 21st century by switching the supported platform to a set of platforms that are more in line with the expectations for a Microsoft product. Support for Windows XP SP2, vista and Windows 7 for the client, and support for windows 2003SP2, and the different flavors and architectures (x86 & x64) of Windows Server 2008. This means support for Windows  2000 is eliminated, also worth noting is that Windows 2003 64 bit is not on the supported platform list.   Additionally 4 new missing integration packs for the System Center product family will be delivered (SCCM, SCSM,SDDPM,SCVMM). These integration packs finally offer integration between the different System Center products at a higher level. Interesting things you could do: Virtual Machine provisioning using SCCM OSD & SCVMM Patch Management automations for SCCM (Auto - download updates, deploy to test collection, send out Approval request, deploy to production) Cluster patch management automation Put a machine really in maintenance mode when doing patching ….. • Configmgr : Connecting Primary Child Sites To Central Primary parent site in and out of same domain

  Today I was at a customer doing a migration from a Configmgr 2007 with site code APL to a new Configmgr 2007 site with site code ICT. I couldn’t get my new Configmgr site with Site code ICT attached to the central primary. The button for “ set parent site “ was grayed out.
