TechEd keynote and my key takeaways - Mikael Sand - Trying to be different

Brad Anderson was the keynote speaker but as it was played he more or less served as a master of ceremonies and brought other people on stage to showcase or demo the products. He did manage to go maybe two minutes before mentioning the buzz-word of the day: cloud. Of course the talk was going to be about the cloud but it was a bit of a let down after the pre-show demoed Kinect on three giant screens.

TechEd Europe 2010 kicks off today in Berlin, Germany with a keynote by Microsoft’s Brad Anderson, which can be seen here beginning at 7 a.m. (PST). The on-demand replay will be available on the Microsoft Cloud Virtual Pressroom later this week.

Brad Anderson was the keynote speaker on this year’s TechEd. Brad started with parallels to the industrial revolution and comparing it to the “technical revolution” we will see today with the introduction of Cloud services. The presentation followed a story of the end user experience.

SCCM Expert is exhibiting at TechEd 2010, Berlin from the 8th to the 12th of November. Our stand number is SC19t in the System Center Pavilion. If you are attending, drop by to meet us.

In addition to software request management, we are show casing Self Service for Windows 7 migration. This new approach automates migration with a streamlined application provisioning process.

Taking software inventory on all machines, synchronizing the old machine with the new one, and ensuring that end-users have the applications they want after migration are all tasks that are now easily automated by SCCM Expert’s Self Service and Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager 2007.

Using ConfigMgr inventory, Driver Manager downloads the latest Windows drivers for a machine model and creates ConfigMgr driver and software packages including driver category assignment.
