Where is Brushy?

At MMS 2010, we gave away “Brushy” at the myITforum.com booth. If you remember, Brushy was a plastic keyboard brush that could sit atop your monitor, ready for use at any time.

Since MMS 2010, we’ve received photos from folks who take Brushy almost “everywhere” they go. After receiving a few more today from community member, and drummer for Pablo Palooza, Paul Gonzalez from his trip last week to Disney World, I thought I’d start posting them up in the “Where’s Brushy” photo gallery.

We’ll be adding more as they roll in. If you have some of your own, or are inclined to start recording your travels with Brushy by your side, send in the photos and we’ll throw them into the gallery.

Adaptiva Demos – just like being at MMS 2010 #mms2010

Those of you that were able to make it to MMS this year (despite the volcano ash cloud) might have seen some pretty cool stuff that came out of Microsoft Gold sponsor, Adaptiva this year. There was a lot of buzz around their Client Health and One Site products.

We specially love the workflow engine they have developed for the Client Health Enterprise Edition product.

$275 is a bit more pricey than previous years, but this is a 2 DVD set. And, apparently, there are two different prices. One for non-attendees, and one for attendees.

The MMS 2010 DVD – how DVD production became faster than email #mms2010

So, funny stuff. My MMS 2010 DVD actually arrived this past Saturday, June 1st, 2010. Not sure if I was the first to receive it, but this year’s distribution is definitely a record. The MMS 2010 folks utilized better technology this year, along with a new company, so it looks like they made the right choice.

The funny part is that, yesterday, I received an email telling me that I would receive the MMS 2010 DVD in about 2 weeks. So, either my DVD was sitting in a time warp, the postal service has made some serious improvements to their delivery processes, or, maybe next year the MMS crew needs to also change the email facilities to match this year’s stellar DVD production experience.

The email I received yesterday:

Dear MMS 2010 Attendee,

This e-mail serves as confirmation that your MMS 2010 DVD set has been shipped and you should be receiving it within 1-2 weeks (International locations may take longer). The DVD set has been sent via the U.S. Postal Service to the address included with your registration information.

If you do not receive your DVD set within the specified time, please e-mail MMS2010DVD@paragongroup.com for further assistance.

TrueSec at MMS 2010 in Las Vegas

As usual we at TrueSec attended Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) in Las Vegas! This year we got more busy than usual as many of the speakers got stuck in Europe due to the volcano eruption in Iceland. Johan Arwidmark and Mikael Nystrom were asked to step up and fill in for those that did not make it. In all that resulted in the two of them gave 11 sessions for the delight of the attending IT Pros.

In total they had close to 2,000 that sat in in their sessions. During the sessions they also took the opportunity to raffle pre-production copies of their brand new book; “Deployment Fundamentals – Volume 1, Migrating to Windows 7 using MDT 2010 Lite Touch and WDS”. TrueSec also had a booth in the exhibitor area where we met with new and old customers. The booth was manned by Kent Agerlund, MVP in SCCM and Per Kimblad, GM TrueSec Inc. Mikael Nystrom, MVP and senior deployment consultant at TrueSec, gave 5 sessions at MMS covering deployment of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 (among other topics). If you missed his sessions or like to hear more, you have the chance in Chicago May 19 -21 where he will run his lab “ Deploying Windows 7 using MDT 2010 Lite Touch”.

A 3 day journey in which Mikael will take you thru the whole process from using MAP and ACT to inventory and plan to customize MDT 2010 for traditional Windows 7 deployment, but also Windows Server deployment both in the real and the virtual world.

We have a few seat still available for this state of the art deployment training using the Microsoft Solution Accelerators in a real life scenario with real life snags and solutions.

New Systems Management in Health Care Email Discussion List

At MMS 2010, there was a BOF specific to providing systems management in a Health Care environment. It was an extremely successful BOF. One of the deliverables from the BOF was to create a new email list that is specific to Health Care issues, concerns, and management.
