1st Annual MMS Tweetup and the Twitter Army #mms2011

We’re starting another piece of MMS history this year, at MMS 2011. Over the past 3 years at MMS, Twitter has become a significant communication tool for the community and event organizers. This year we will help to officially kick-off the conference by having a short session in the Community Lounge on Monday, March 21st at 9:30am.

We welcome one-and-all to this Tweetup and meeting.  If you are interested in attending just drop by the Community Lounge.  When you register you will be given a conference map which will include the location of the Community Lounge. 

Martin Dey (Microsoft) will be on hand to welcome you to MMS by going over some key pieces of social media for MMS, including special session hashtags and other things.

By combining our forces, and putting together our “Twitter Army”, we can help others at the event get the most out of it, but also help those who cannot attend this year to still be part of the community fun and event happenings.

And, if this is not enough to entice you to join the Twitter Army, we will be gathering your Twitter handles at the event so we can effectively track your participation for a special prize!

We’re not going to announce the participation prize here.  You’ll have to actually be at the Tweetup to hear more.

Anyone who has monitored MMS for the last few years knows that I am the Twitter King.  So, yes – sadly, I will be unable to win the prize due to my involvement with this.  That means someone has to step up!

UPDATE!  All those who attend the Tweetup will also receive a special “MMS Twitter Army” lapel pin!
