MMS News: Annual myITforum Party at MMS 2011 #mms2011

The myITforum party is as much steeped in history as MMS itself.  This week we are dotting the “I’s” and crossing the “T’s” to gear up for a great event.  If you are signed-up for our newsletter, you’ll receive our special MMS edition newsletter this week.  This edition will include everything you need to know about MMS 2011.  But, in this post, we specifically want to let everyone know about this year’s party.

The party is on Tuesday night (as always) of the conference, March 22nd, 2011.  The party will run from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.  Show up early so you can dig into the excellent menu this year.

The party is located in the Islanders DEI, which is in the NORTH Convention Center (MMS is in the South Convention Center, levels 2 & 3).

How do I get a ticket?

OK…so, with the location and menu now set in stone, it’s time to GET READY TO RUMBLE!  If you have a reserved ticket (reserved by donating to myITforum throughout the year) you can just check in at the booth at your leisure to pick up your ticket (reserved emails will be going out in the next day or so).  IF YOU DO NOT have a reserved ticket you will need to be one of the first to fight and claw your way to the myITforum.com booth (booth #145) the minute the Expo opens at 5:30pm, Monday of MMS 2011.  Party entry is first come, first served by way of stopping by the myITforum.com booth.

If you’ve never been to MMS before – you have NO IDEA what I’m talking about.  However, if you have been there before, you know exactly what to expect.  Even though the Expo doesn’t open until 5:30pm, the line to get into the Expo actually starts a couple hours prior.  Why?  Just to be one of the first to get to the ultimate MMS party – the myITforum.com party.

To get into the myITforum.com party – you MUST have a ticket – no exceptions!  So, yeah – you’ll want one of these.  The tickets are also a sort of MMS memorabilia that have been collected since the party’s inception – so many years ago.  If you want to know more about this and why it’s so popular, read through the History of MMS.

Where’s the booth?

OK…so the next question is, where’s the myITforum.com booth located?  Due to the mass of people entering the Expo to receive a party ticket, Microsoft tucks us neatly into the optimum space so that the fire regulations aren’t broken.

Incidentally – if you are even a tad bit frightened of crowds you still have until the end of this week to “donate” to myITforum.com to have a ticket reserved.  Donations for tickets will end March 11, 2011.

I also want to formally thank this year’s party sponsors!  But, I’ll do that in a separate post so they can get optimum attribution.  Look for that shortly.  A couple previous years’ sponsors are missing in this year’s group.  You might be surprised.
