Thanks to those who are sharing their MMS 2011 memories we now have *almost* 1,600 photo memories of MMS (we’re only 10 short). There are quite a few more that we’ll be uploading over the next week or so, so stay tuned.
As always, the MMS Memories album sits at the following link:

We’ve rolled out some changes to the myITforum.com site properties over the past couple days to reflect product announcements and product changes at MMS 2011.
Forums
We added a brand new System Center Configuration Manager 2012 forum for chatting about the upcoming product and participation in the current beta offerings. ConfigMgr 2012 represents a huge change in “SMS”.
We added a brand new forum just for System Center Advisor. System Center Advisor (formerly Microsoft codename Atlanta) is a cloud service that enables IT professionals to assess their server configuration and proactively avoid problems.
We updated the Opalis forum to reflect the new product name change. Opalis is now System Center Orchestrator.
Article sections
We added a new section in the Articles for System Center Advisor.
We modified the Opalis Article section to reflect the name change to System Center Orchestrator.
myITforum TV

This year marks the second time I've attended the Microsoft Management Summit, and I have to say that I took a lot more away from the show this year than I did last year. Last year, I was on the prowl looking for Microsoft-specific directions on desktop virtualization. This year, I dropped the "virtualization" part and decided to follow what's happening with the entire desktop (this is, after all, the Microsoft Management Summit). Part of that was out of necessity since there wasn't much in the way of desktop virtualization announcements, but another reason is that we're officially now dealing with the "concept" of the desktop, and not the physical device of the same name.

It's alive! Run for your lives! Ahhhhh! Ok, don't do that. Run for the web site and order your copy today. I hope you like it. I tried to fill in the things I thought were missing in the previous book.

The day 1 keynote had to be taken offline late last week due to some issues with some of the video portions. The TechNet Edge folks are still working on a final version, but a temporary (could be the final one, we’ll see) version has been put up for everyone to review.

If you were at MMS 2011, you could NOT miss the BDNA booth with the energy drinks and the small-scale tattoo parlor. In addition to having cool setup at MMS 2011, BDNA also announced some serious tech at MMS 2011.
And, then today, I noticed that TechNet Radio has a special post about “how BDNA products can help System Center Configuration Manager admins improve their daily IT operations as well as realize the full potential of their IT budgets and infrastructure.”
Take a listen to the web cast and hear about how “Normalizing” your SCCM environment is HUGE value:

The 1st annual MMS Twitter Army was put together this year and it was a huge success. If you followed the #mms2011 and #mmsfun hashtags, you saw an enormous amount of valuable content about MMS 2011. We’re already working to enhance and improve the Army for next year, but here’s the list of folks (Twitter handles) who enlisted this year. These folks proved to be up to the challenge as MMS 2011 represented the best Twitter-covered conference with over 10,000 Tweets.
We’ll be putting together some full stats from last week to post soon so you can clearly see their valuable participation. Follow these folks for great information all year round.
Incidentally, if your name does not show up on the list and you were at the Monday morning Tweetup, drop me a note with your correct Twitter handle.
Funny enough, too – some folks showed up without a Twitter handle because they just wanted the cool Twitter Army lapel pin!
