Installing Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager 2007 can be a daunting task. There is a vast jungle of documentation available on Technet and in many excellent blogs. Training courses last at least a week and the final system can be as complex as your sysadmin imagination will allow (and that’s pretty complex!)

However, with so many choices to make most people will want to test SCCM in a lab environment first and you probably don’t want to spend weeks reading and spend a fortune on classroom training before you decide if this is right product for your business.

In this article I’ll give you just the bare minimum setup information to get up and running on SCCM in record time.
