iPhone 3.0 will put the iPhone years ahead of the competition?
18 March 09 03:37 PM | rodtrent | 2 comment(s)

"The new iPhone OS 3.0 is a major software release packed with incredible new features and innovations for iPhone customers and developers alike," said Apple Senior Vice President Philip Schiller. "It will keep us years ahead of the competition."

Uh…so what’s the major, killer features?  Here’s a few:

  • Cut-and-paste
  • Phone-to-phone wireless connection
  • Push-notification system
  • Landscape view for email
  • Phone tethering (maybe)
  • Flash support (maybe)

Years ahead of competition?  Gimme a break.  Windows Mobile has been doing this for years.  Apple is just catching up – not releasing breakthrough features.

Early-bird registration for MMS 2009 is still open, and can be accessed from the event web site at www.mms-2009.com.  The site provides an overview of the event as well as the complete event schedule.

Event Agenda
MMS 2009 will offer more deep technical breakout sessions than ever before, covering a broad range of IT Management topics and technologies. Daily Q&A slots also allow attendees to meet the presenters of that day’s sessions and discuss specific session content informally in a 1:1 format. In addition, the event will provide over 9,000 Hands-On Lab places during the week, including more Instructor-led Lab topics than in any previous year, as well as the usual “walk-up” self-paced lab area.  All of Microsoft’s management solutions, together with those provided by Partners, will be on show at the MMS 2009 Expo where you’ll have the opportunity to review the latest solutions and discuss your specific requirements with leading industry experts and your peers within the IT industry.

Session Schedule
Full details of the Breakout, Self-paced and Instructor-led Lab sessions are provided on the event web site Sessions Page and in a downloadable Session Details PDF. In addition a grid view of all the Breakout and ILL schedules is available in two page formats: Week on a page (11”x17”) and Day on a page (Legal).

Deep Technical Content
Only at MMS 2009 can you find both the breadth and the depth of information you need on current IT Management issues and solutions. Topics covering areas such as "Systems Management", "Operations Management", "Virtualization" and "Solution Accelerators" quickly drill from overviews of the latest features and solutions into detailed troubleshooting and performance optimization topics. Whether you need to optimize IT service availability or plan cost-effective OS and software deployments for your organization, you'll find everything you need to know at MMS 2009.
