Rumor or true? Oracle to acquire Quest Software?
That’s what they’re saying over at Forbes.com. Blaming the economy on weak expectations, Oracle may be seeking acquisitions to boost the bottom line.
Forbes.com thinks that Quest Software is one of the candidates.

Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry said that Oracle's organic growth will slow in line with the U.S. economy, but he expects it to continue its aggressive strategy of expansion through acquisitions. Its most likely targets, according to Chowdhry: Quest Software, Cerner, and Informatica.

Oracle's Strength May Be Short-Lived
Is this a good thing? In my opinion, no. Think about the companies that Oracle has purchased, like, PeopleSoft, Siebel Systems, Hyperion Solutions, and BEA Systems. Have you heard of them or their products in a while? An Oracle acquisition is like being detained at Guantanamo Bay. You just never hear about them again.
