alex finishes at state with the top 7th time in the 400m
despite finishing with the top 7th time in the prelims of the 400m at state, he doesn't move on to the finals. even though the event was fully automated they took the top 4 finishers in each heat. alex finished 5th by a hair in his heat, yet had the 7th top time. if he would have been in the first heat he would have come in 3rd based on his time. crazy...but he now has some good experience for next year's race back to the state finals.
i'll have more later. we're headed back to the hotel for food, air conditioning, and relaxation. its time to celebrate and plan for his senior year.
