Xobni gone

Published 23 May 08 04:00 PM | rodtrent

I just uninstalled it.  I think I'll be happy I did.  It just sat there, taking up environment space, screen space, and hard disk space.  Maybe its just not for me.

Anyone else using this Outlook add-in and using it on a full time basis?

BTW: Since uninstalling Xobni, Outlook 2007 starts up about 3 times faster than it did with Xobni installed.  Seriously.  Startup is almost instantaneous.

I have Xobni installed and think it is the Beez Kneez.

Have been using it for 3 weeks.

It is must faster than Windows Desktop Search (my previous method) at indexing, and you never ever see or hear it indexing, whereas the Desktop search scrapes the hardrive througout the day, which does interfere with other program operation.

The search ability and retrieval of emails and attachments through Xobni is unsurpassed with anything within Outlook itself.

I have a Quad Core 2.4Ghz machine with 4Gb of RAM so that probably helps.

What are your machine specs?

Have you loaded the updated Microsoft Desktop?  It was just released last week some time.  Runs a lot smoother and quieter.
