I cut the tip of my thumb off tonight.  Believe that?

I was cutting steak to make stir fry, was in a hurry, looked away for just a second, and <slice!>, off comes the tip of my thumb.  I washed it, stopped the bleeding, bandaged the tip back on, and finished making dinner…but looks like I need stitches.

Uggh…

Hopefully, I can get a picture tomorrow.  One-handed picture taking doesn't work too well. :)

LOL i did the same thing on Thanksgiving (2007)Carving the Turkey. Worst part was that there was nothing to stitch. i clean cut the whole tip off straight though my thumb nail almost to the bone. Funny part was i couldnt find the piece that i cut off. oops.

Ended up having to get a tetnis shot. But there was nothing they could do but let it heal and keep it rapped.

I found that the teflon bandages from 3m worked the best to keep the wound from sticking to the bandage.
