The Soccer season is officially over -- what to do now...
My first paid coaching job (soccer) was a success. So many great things happened this year for our team. So good, in fact, that I’ve been asked to come back next year and coach again. I really had a great time, we had a great season, and I was sorely sad when the season ended. I’m looking forward to greater things next year.
It seems I always have to have something extracurricular to do, though. I coached basketball last year for 8 straight months, along with coaching my son’s SAY soccer team to tournaments. I’m still waiting to hear if I’ll be coaching basketball this year or not. I really love coaching, but that may not be what’s in store for me this year and I accept that.
But, with coaching off my plate (at least for now) I needed something else to do. Lo and behold, I was asked last night to replace a guitarist in a local band. It’s neat how things work and how one thing is replaced with another so quickly for me. I must be doing something right.
I play a lot of different instruments, but have played guitar for the last 21 years. I hadn’t played guitar in any public venue since I was in my 20’s, but, lately, I play several times a week in my local church group, and have done so for the last year or so. It’s given me a chance to practice and get my “groove” back on.
Anyway, here’s my new “gig”:

I’ve been involved with this band in one way or another for the last couple years. Helping out as a sound check man, roadie, etc. It’s a great band with a LOT of potential.
Wish me luck. I’m really excited about this. You may see/hear us around sometime.
