Found a DVD converter that works on Windows Vista

I’m playing with my Zune today and I needed an app that can convert DVD movies to WMV format (for the Zune, but also for a Windows Mobile device).  I used DVD to PocketPC a while back, prior to moving to Windows Vista.  It worked well then, but today I found out it doesn’t work with Windows Vista x64.

So, off I went to Live.com to search for a replacement.  I found it pretty quickly (nice job, btw, on the Live.com updates, Microsoft).

Pocket DVD Studio ($34.95) works great, is simple to use, and best of all it works on Windows Vista x64.

I’m currently converting “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” (one of my recent faves) right now.  I chose output for the highest video and audio and after it’s finished it will be around 690MB after close to 50 minutes of conversion time.

I’ll let you know later how it looks on the Zune.
