The new company, known as Univa UD, will be based in Lisle. Jason Liu, Univa's chief executive officer, will head the merged company, with 50 employees, evenly divided between Lisle and Austin.
"We have our roots in Chicago, so we want to stay here," said Liu, 37, who has managed a series of early-stage tech infrastructure companies -- including Callisto Software, which was acquired by Novell, and Intrinsic Technologies, both in the Chicago area.
