Quick note: Opera versus Firefox

Firefox, for me, has long been a source of pain.  Its slow, doesn’t adhere to business standards (yet, they say it adheres to web standards – that’s another discussion altogether), and it causes problems with other apps on the computer.  Just my opinion.  Take it for what its worth.

Opera, on the other hand, is an entirely different app.  I loaded the new version of Opera last week and am surprisingly impressed.  For compatibility and speed, Opera is years beyond Firefox.  Why does Firefox get so much press if its clearly not a bettter product than Opera as an alternative browser?

I’ll do some digging later on, but just wanted to jot down my findings so far.
